#1. Choose a perfect niche for your blog.

The first thing first. You have to decide what to blog. You have to find out a niche for your blog. Niche means the topic or subject of your blog. Choosing the right niche is very important in blogging.

If you want to divert your blog to a passive income generator, you have to stay with one niche on your blog.

If you are a representative of a business or an organization, your blog should be related to the products and services that you offer. If you are an individual, you can choose any topic that you are familiar with, and it’s all about your passion.

I see many new bloggers starting trouble choosing the right niche for their blog and changing minds the next day after choosing one niche. It’s a wrong turn. Keep in mind the following points while selecting a niche for your blog.

  • Your purpose, passion, interest, expertise, or knowledge on a topic.
  • Treading topics that you can get a good number of visitors.
  • Depends on business value or profit, etc.

A niche – in simple terms – is the general topic matter that you write about. It’s the passion or main theme of your blog. When you have a niche, all your posts revolve around that main theme, and that’s essentially all you talk about.

Adventure blogs, Beauty blogs, Business blogs, Decorating blogs, Design blogs, DIY blogs, Education blogs, Entertainment blogs, Fashion blogs, Film blogs, Fitness blogs, Food blogs, Gaming blogs, Health blogs, How to blogs, Lifestyle blogs, Make money online blogs, Marketing blogs, Mom blogs, Money saving blogs, Music blogs, Outdoor blogs, Personal finance blogs, Pet blogs, Photography blogs, Relationships blogs, Sports blogs, Tech blogs, Travel blogs, Wedding blogs, etc.

These topics are just samples only. Even more, is there. But, as I mentioned before, it’s all about your passion and writing skills. Which subject you are more familiar with, stay with it.

Still, if you are struggling to choose the subject for your blog, let me introduce some tools for you.

In your case, you can use this tool for searching a perfect word for your blog which will get a high-rank chance in Google search. #2. A domain name for your blog.

In short, Your domain name is your identity. Choosing the right domain name for your blog/site is an important thing like the naming of a baby. Once you choose a domain name for your blog, if you wish to change the domain name in the future – it is not an easy process. This will damage your brand identity, search rankings, reputation, etc. Because of this, it’s very important that you have to choose the best domain name from the starting point.  Consider the following points while choosing the domain name for your blog.

You can find a good & available domain name for your blog in seconds here.

  • Stick with .com domain – Because it is the most used domain extension so far.
  • Use keywords – Keywords can help improve your SEO.
  • Use domain name generators – This can help you to create unique domain names.
  • Make it short – Keep your domain between 5 – 15 characters (avoid special characters).

Domain names are a little cheap ($5 to $15 per year) and every domain name will expire in a year which means you have to renew it after every 12 months.
You can choose your domain name from the below-mentioned domain name providers if you are interested.

#3. Choose a perfect blogging platform.

A blogging platform is a service that you can use to publish your content on the internet in the form of a blog. Choosing the best platform for blogging depends on some parameters like investment, ease of use, flexibility, monetization gains & support. There are many platforms available like Blogspot, WordPress, Tumbler, Medium, Squarespace, Joomla, etc. WordPress is a good choice for beginning bloggers who would like to take advantage of more site features in the future. It is very easy to use. So I suggest you go with WordPress.org.

Why WordPress?

So far WordPress is the most popular open source Content Management System (CMS), used by approximately above 75 million websites. According to W3Tech’s 2017 survey of the top 1 million domains, WordPress is the most used content management system over the internet. WordPress gives you full control over your website. WordPress is search engine friendly.

#4. Choose the Best Hosting Service for Your Blog.

There are many web hosting services available in the market, cheap & reliable. Choosing the best web hosting company can be a somewhat daunting task. Bluehost is one of the best hosting services in this market. Getting the best web hosting could result in an improvement in SEO and an increase in web traffic. I recommend hosting your WordPress site with Bluehost.

In this post, I am going to guide you to install WordPress on Bluehost. Each step we will cover with screenshots, so that can be pretty helpful to anyone. You can pick any other web hosting services you like.

Please Note: If you are thinking of a cheap and best hosting service, here is my recommendation. Hostinger is providing you with 90% OFF for Hosting and FREE Domain included! Sounds good! yeah, really it’s an amazing offer. Grab it now.

# Why Bluehost?

Bluehost is one of the world’s largest providers of cloud-based online solutions. It is recommending by WordPress.org since 2005. If you are going to host your WordPress on Bluehost, you will get a free domain name as a compliment from them. Unlimited bandwidth, unlimited storage space, unlimited add-on websites, thirty-day money-back guarantee, automated backup services, 24*7 support, and 1-click WordPress install, these features are guaranteed with Bluehost. Ok, Let’s start here.

#Step1 – Go to Bluehost

On the Bluehost homepage, hover over hosting in the navigation bar and click on Shared Hosting or Click on get started now >

#Step2 – Choose your hosting plan

On this screen, you can see 3 hosting plans, and the starter plan is the one I recommend for the new bloggers. You can upgrade your starter plan to a higher one anytime in the future.

#Step3 – Choose a domain name for your blog

Next, you need to choose a domain name for your site. If you have already owned a domain name and want to use it for your website on Bluehost, otherwise type your existing domain in the right box and then click “next”. If you don’t have a domain name, you can purchase one right in the sign-up process, it comes free with your new WordPress hosting account purchase.

#Step4 – Create an account with Bluehost

After choosing the domain name for your site/blog, you have to create an account with Bluehost. Therefore, you can select the Sign in with Google option for ease of access, or you can create manually with the requested account information just below the ‘sign in with Google’ choice.

#Step5 – Confirm your package information & add-ons

Now you will be prompted to choose your package information. In this step, keep in mind the following:

  • Account Plan: I would suggest you select the 24 or 36 months tenures to save money, as you can’t get a discount at the time of renewal. You will receive your free domain (an $11.99+ value).
  • Domain Privacy Protection: Keep this box checked. If you don’t want your account information to become public.
  • You can uncheck the other payable add-ons like SiteLock Security – Find, Codeguard Basic, Bluehost SEO Tools Start, etc.

You do not need those add-ons to get your blog up and running. Eventually, as your blog/website grows, you can decide if you want to add those services. Otherwise, you can always add add-on services from your Bluehost cPanel.

#Step5 – Choose the payment method

After that, select the payment method that you want to make the payment with Bluehost – via credit card or PayPal. By default, you will see only the credit card option and if you wish to make payment via Paypal, click on more options.

#Step6 – Read the terms & conditions and submit

After that click the “submit” button to complete your purchase. You will then be asked to create a password for your account.

#Step7 – Create a strong password for the Bluehost account

You can use the Password Generator to create a secure and robust password or create one yourself. Choose a password to protect your account, use both capital and lowercase letters, a special character number, and at least one numeric.

Once you have successfully created your password a congratulations screen will pop up. Now you are ready to log in to your Bluehost account.

Now just check your domain name on a new page of the browser and you will get a webpage with a coming soon message. I know this is not what you are looking for, Right? Ok, Let’s install WordPress and set up your blog.

#Step8 – Install WordPress on Bluehost

After login into your Bluehost cPanel, look for the Install WordPress option and click on the same. You can see below under the website zone, that there are 2 options like install WordPress & One-Click install. Just click any one of them and proceed.

Click the Install button.

Type your domain name to install WordPress. In the field next to the domain, you can enter a subfolder such as ‘blog‘ or leave it blank if you want the site’s main page to be the blog. Next, click on ‘Check Domain’,

Maybe you will get a message like ‘it looks like files already exist in this location,’ but you can ignore this message and click ‘continue.’

If necessary, you can edit the email address, username, and password for the new WordPress installation. Click “advanced options” and you can change those settings. Then go through the Terms & Conditions and check the boxes then click the Install Now button.

It will take a few minutes for WordPress to install. Once the installation processing is done, you will get redirected to your WordPress login credentials page. You will also receive a confirmation email with all of this information.

That’s it, You did it! You have successfully installed WordPress on Bluehost.

Now, it’s time to design & launch your blog.

With this in mind, access your WordPress blog’s admin page by typing www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin (replace yourdomain with your domain name) into the browser address bar. Log in with your admin username and password into the ‘Username’ and ‘Password’ boxes and click on ‘Login.’ Now you have reached your blog’s dashboard.

#6. Change Your WordPress Blog’s Theme.

Now you can play around here. First of all, you need to choose a WordPress theme (some are paid, but many are free)!

Keep in mind, that a majority of free WordPress themes are outdated. So hackers can find loopholes in these themes and they can easily hack into your site. Not all free themes lead to this, but you have to research a little when you are choosing one theme for your site. You can always upgrade to a Premium theme at a later date if you would like. I love to use  Genesis Framework on my all blogs because it’s just awesome. Most of the free themes don’t allow you to customize in advance. But with Genesis, you can customize your website’s design as much as you want with its child theme.

There are a lot of premium WordPress theme developers in the market and I recommend you to go with StudioPress, MyThemeShop, or Themeforest. They are offering a ton of exceptional customization options.

If you are interested in going with free themes, here’s how you can find and use free themes on your blog:

Go to AppearanceThemes > Add New and then use the search box to find a theme that suits your needs or use the Upload Theme option to add new themes from your computer.

Here, you can see all the themes that you have currently installed in your WordPress account. By default, WordPress will install the Twenty Seventeen theme, and previous defaults Twenty Sixteen theme and Twenty Fifteen theme. You can switch between the Themes you have already installed here.

Now you are ready to start a blog on your new WordPress blog! Create amazing content, make your blog stand out from the rest, and build your own network. ‘You can be different. I wish you all the success in your blogging journey.

Please Note: This is my personal advice. Once you launched your new blog, start creating great content that is related to your niche ‘weekly’. Learn and refer more related to your niche topic. Learning is a continuous process of life. DON’T GIVE UP.

High Converting Opt-in Pages

The Art Of Creating High Converting Opt-in Pages

The Art Of Creating High Converting Opt-in Pages

Creating high converting opt-in pages doesn’t have to be as challenging as you think.

In fact.

I’ve been able to get up to an 80% opt-in rate on pure cold traffic simply by utilizing the tactics that I’m going to show you in this post.

So are you ready to dive in?

Perfect.

Then let’s get right on into it.

High Converting Opt-in Pages

So there are only a few things you need to focus on which include:

  • What your visitors are going to be getting.
  • The big benefit.
  • And last but least, the call to action.

That’s pretty much all you need, so allow me to break down each section for you.

“What’s In It For Me?”

This is the first thing that you want to let your targeted audience know:

What am I getting?

And the easiest way to let them know what they’re getting is by simply telling them.

Here are a few examples:

  • Free PDF reveals.
  • Free cheat sheet.
  • Free video training.
  • Free video presentation.
  • And so on and so forth.

This section will be at the top part of the page and it’s going to pretty much be the first thing they see if they look from top to bottom.

So what do they see under that?

Let’s move on to the next section.

The Big Benefit

This is actually the most important part of the opt-in page and is something that you were going to want to split test the most.

So what you need here is some hard-hitting copy, and this is going to be a very big benefit when it comes to your targeted audience.

If you’d like to make this as easy as possible for you, here is a formula that you can utilize when it comes to this section.

  • How To Awesome Without Suck

I’ve used this many times and it always seems to get me great results.

Here are a few examples when it comes to this formula in different niches:

  • How to add 50 yards to your drives without swinging faster.
  • How to take 10 strokes off of your game without living at the driving range.
  • How to approach a woman without getting rejected and embarrassing yourself.
  • How to play the guitar like a rockstar without getting expensive lessons.

Do you see what I mean here?

These statements provide a lot of benefits, but also tackle a lot of the objections people have when it comes to accomplishing them.

So when you find an actual headline that you would like to use?

Make sure you come up with multiple ways of saying it.

Here’s an example of one and how you can reword it multiple times:

  • How to make affiliate commissions without spending a dime.
  • How to make affiliate commissions without running paid ads.
  • How to make affiliate commissions even if you don’t have a lot of money.

As you can see this formula also works when it comes to using without or even if.

So when you want to get started you would pick one of these headlines and simply test it out.

That will allow you to split test between multiple headlines and see who the winner is going to be.

Pretty simple stuff right?

So let’s move on to the last section now.

The Call To Action

Keep in mind that this is going to be directly under the headline…

And one more thing before I forget.

You want to make sure that everything that I’ve talked about is above the fold.

So what that means is that when someone arrives on your opt-in page, they should be able to see everything that I have talked about without needing to scroll down

I’ve noticed that if someone needs to scroll down in order to opt in, then there is a good chance that you’re going to miss out on some conversions.

Anywho.

A call to action is simply something like:

  • Click here to get instant access.
  • Click this button to download.

And as you might have noticed I’m saying “click here” because what you want to do is have a two-step opt-in.

From all of my testing?

Two-step opt-ins have converted much better compared to just having someone enter in their email and then hit a button.

The reason for this is because when they click on a button it’s considered a micro commitment.

That means they are more committed to giving you their email once they see the drop-down box appear.

And remember.

Sometimes people need to be told what to do because they’re unsure of what to do.

I’ve seen it multiple times were on Facebook ads people comment

How can I get my free cheat sheet/PDF/free gift (or whatever it is).

And the funny part is that it says it on the ad itself to actually click on the picture.

You always want to make it as easy as possible for your targeted audience to take action.

Whether that’s going to be to opt-in to enter their e-mail or even make a purchase.

Alright, so we are getting to the end of the post…

So let’s take a look at what you need to create these types of pages.

The 2-Step Sales Funnel

Who says that sales funnels need to be complex?

The best part of this sales funnel is that it only requires:

  • An opt-in page.
  • A thank you page.
  • And then you can follow up through email.

So what can you use to create an opt-in page and thank you page?

There’s obviously hundreds (and even thousands) of choices to pick from.

But for beginners?

You can always start with WordPress.

And then you need some type of autoresponder.

Here are a few options when it comes to your choices:

  • Aweber.
  • MarketHero
  • GetResponse.
  • And of course ConvertKit.

When it comes to picking an autoresponder?

You want to look for:

  • Free trial.
  • The pricing.
  • Good deliverability.
  • And specific features that you might want.

Out of all the choices above?

ConvertKit is a solid pick (IM Nights talks about them here).

So when you think about it?

Getting a simple funnel up and running is not only quick but pretty cheap.

Not too bad when you consider how many leads and sales it can bring you!

Alright, so now that we’ve got that covered, let’s wrap up this post.

Conclusion

Now I understand that this formula sounds extremely simple, but when it comes to high converting opt-in pages?

I have found that the simpler it is, the higher it converts.

  • You can use whatever traffic source you want.
  • You can use whatever sales funnel builder you want.
  • Heck, you can even go in whatever niche you want to.

What matters the most is that you actually test this out and put it into action.

That will allow you to make tweaks to increase your opt-in rate even higher

I hope these tips helped when it comes to increasing your high converting opt-in rate and I want to say thank you for reading.
